Couples & EMDR Intensives

Sometimes healing asks for more than 50 minutes. Deeper dives, longer sessions, and targeted work — for individuals and partners ready to move through what's been stuck.

EXTENDED & INTENSIVE SESSIONS.

More time.

More depth.

The 50-minute therapy hour is an industry norm — but it isn't always enough. Some people need more time to settle in before they feel comfortable diving in to the heavy stuff. Others are in a season of life where they want to do deeper work, or they're navigating something that calls for sustained, concentrated attention.

I offer half and full day(s) intensives for individuals and couples who want to see change happen quickly. These can be one-time intensives or a series of extended sessions, depending on what's right for you.

01

PREPARATION

We clarify your goals, build safety and resourcing skills, and design a session structure that fits your needs.

02

DEEP WORK

With more time and fewer transitions, we can follow threads all the way through — EMDR processing, relational repair, or both.

03

INTEGRATION

We close with intentional grounding, reflection, and a plan for what comes next after the session.

IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Who intensives
are — and aren't — for

Intensives are a good fit if you're

  • Ready to do focused, sustained work

  • Stable enough to engage with difficult material

  • Both partners willing and motivated (for couples work)

  • Looking to move through something specific

  • Wanting more depth than weekly sessions allow

  • In a season of life that calls for concentrated support

Intensives may not be a fit if you're

  • Experiencing active suicidal ideation or in crisis

  • Living with untreated psychosis or dissociative disorders

  • In active substance use or addiction without additional support

  • New to therapy with no prior assessment or stabilization

  • One partner coming reluctantly, without genuine willingness

Not sure where you fall? Reach out — we can figure it out together in a free consultation.

FOR PARTNERS

Couples Intensives

A couples intensive is an extended session — or a series of longer sessions — designed to help partners move through rupture, rebuild connection, and develop the tools to keep growing together.

Rather than spending weeks laying the groundwork in 50-minute increments, intensives create space to get to the heart of what's happening and to begin changing it right away.

Couples intensives at Rising Moon are welcoming to partners of all structures, orientations, and relationship configurations. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit — many couples come during periods of transition, after a betrayal, or simply because they want to invest in each other in a meaningful way.

EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION AND REPROCESSING

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and integrate difficult experiences that got "stuck" — memories, beliefs, and sensations that continue to shape how you feel and relate to the world, even long after the original event.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR works directly with the nervous system. Using bilateral stimulation — typically tapping or guided eye movements — your brain is guided through its natural healing process, forming new, adaptive pathways in place of old ones.

EMDR can help with

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Depression

  • Grief and loss

  • Relational and attachment wounds

  • Chronic pain

  • Sleep disturbance

  • Shame and self-worth

  • Phobias and performance blocks

Research has shown that about five hours of EMDR treatment eliminates PTSD in 84 to 100 percent of civilians with a single trauma experience.
